Bona fide Online Single Adult Dating Profiles
August 19th, 2011Making sure you’re dealing with a bona fide person can be tricky when you’re dealing with online profiles. It’s easy to set up a profile, and even easier for people just to play around. There are a few things you can do to make sure you’re dealing with a bona fide profile.
Membership Types
If you’re dealing with someone who has a limited account, this isn’t a red flag in itself. However, if they’ve been a free member for a long time, they probably aren’t terribly serious. Those that really want to meet others will almost always go ahead and upgrade their memberships so they can contact others and use the features that aren’t accessible through the free or trial memberships. It’s not a good idea to invest a lot of time in a profile that has been at the free or limited status for a long time.
Chat
Take advantage of the online chat rooms. If the person you’re interested in keeps trying to jump right in to sex talk they may only be looking for online fun. You don’t need to pressure them in to meeting, but chatting can be a good way to weed through the ones who are truly serious and the ones who are just playing around.
Past Experiences
When you start talking to others don’t hesitate to ask what kind of experiences they’ve had in the past with online dating. Those who are serious will have gone out a time or two unless they are brand new to online dating. If they say they haven’t met anyone but they have been on the site for more than a year, then they likely aren’t bona fide.
